BENTON TOWNSHIP — The Marriott Spring Hill Suites Hotel is nearly complete.
According to Building Inspector Tom Baldwin, the Benton Township hotel could be ready for occupancy in November.
“They are finishing their fire suppression connections, which is normally the last stage,” Baldwin said. “As far as the township’s final walk-through, we have that scheduled in the next three weeks.”
If the hotel at 1255 Cinema Way receives township approval, Marriott developers must still go through the final inspections with the Marriott Hotels. Those additional inspections would happen sometime during November, Baldwin said.
Work on the Marriott began in December 2015, nearly a week after the $8.5 million project received final approval from trustees. The Marriott will be four-stories high with 92 rooms.
Developer Sam Sandia could not be reached for comment on the hotel’s expected date of occupancy.
“The Marriott has all of their key provisions,” Baldwin said. “Then it’s onto the other hotel.”
A Staybridge Suites was approved by trustees and is underway to become the third hotel along Cinema Way.
The Staybridge Suites Hotel would be at 1275 Cinema Way, across from the Hilton Garden Inn and next to the Marriott.
The Staybridge Suites would have 88 rooms, 100 parking spots and be four-stories high – in line with the Marriott.
“For Staybridge, they’ve got various foundations in place,” Baldwin said. “Going into the winter, there’s no timeline. It could be another six to eight months before that’s ready for final inspection.”
